The Missouri Botanical Garden
The Missouri Botanical Garden is “one of the nation’s oldest botanical gardens in continuous operation and is a National Historic Landmark.”
The beautiful garden offers many truly breathtaking locations for your engagement photos…each more amazing than the last. It’s a truly magical and dreamy location. This 79-acre Garden in the south part of St. Louis is the perfect oasis for beautiful engagement photos, no matter the season! – My favorite time to visit the garden is spring (late April to early May).
When TO Visit
The Botanical Garden is quiet, romantic, and serene. When planned correctly, you can avoid crowds, making the grounds feel more private. I prefer to arrive at the park during the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) at 2:30 and staying until they close at 5:00. The crowds will be very small, the garden is quiet, and the light is truly beautiful.
Magical & Dreamy Landscape
The vast flower gardens, large historic trees with impossible branches, wooden bridges, quite streams, the pond & waterfalls, beautifully designed rock gardens, and delicate benches throughout the garden offer so many magical and dreamy options for your engagement session. – Make sure you bring comfy shoes to walk around in!! We can always change into your pretty heals when we arrive at our photo spot.
How to Schedule Your Session at The Garden
It’s wise to schedule your photo session on a day when the garden doesn’t have many fun events scheduled. Wednesdays are usually their slower days. Visit their website to view event dates and per-purchase your tickets online. General Admission is $16 (as of 2026).
